Pak je kans om te shinen in de opname van een Queer-Femme-Glam skatevideo!

Van 27 maart t/m 5 april is kunstenaar Bambí Benkö bezig met een kunstproject in de skatehal van Burnside. Met opblaasbare lichtsculpturen transformeert de kunstenaar het skatepark van een harde, vrij ‘masculine’ omgeving naar een zachte, meer ‘feminiene’ safespace met een “dreamy rollerdisco vibe.” Meer over het hele ‘Art, Skate, Rave, Repeat.’ project lees je hier.

QUEER FEMME GLAM NIGHT / FILMSHOOT

Op woensdagavond 2 april organiseert Bambí een ‘Queer-Femme-Glam Night’ in het skatepark. Die avond wordt er een skatevideo opgenomen zoals je die nog nooit hebt gezien: denk aan flamboyante, lichtgevende outfits en camp choreografieën uit rollerdisco films uit de jaren 80, gemengd met intermezzo’s van roller pole dance en wat je fantasie nog te binnenschiet. Zo blijft er altijd een voorbeeld bewaard van hoe het skatepark er ook uit zou kunnen zien.

Voor de shoot wordt de queer en femme community op de voorgrond gesteld, maar is iedereen welkom, of je nu op rolschaatsen, skateboard, rolstoel of bmx fiets komt. Kun je (nog) niet skaten? Geen zorgen, wij regelen rolschaatsen voor je en die avond komt een rollerdocent iedereen de pasjes leren voor de video.
We verzamelen die avond om 18:00 uur bij Kunstenlab om ons klaar te maken en dan gaan we rond 19:00 uur samen naar Burnside. Voor wat te eten wordt gezorgd.

WORKSHOP LICHTGEVENDE KOSTUUMS MAKEN

Ter voorbereiding op de filmshoot is er op zondag 30 maart van 12:00-17:00 uur een workshop lichtgevende kostuums maken in Kunstenlab. Die dag ga je in samenwerking met Bambí Benkö en de Rotterdamse queer modedesignster Dragadina je eigen, lichtgevende kostuum ontwerpen en maken. Als basis breng je eigen kleding mee om verstellen of pimpen. Samen brainstormen we over hoe we jouw fantasie werkelijkheid kunnen maken! Inspiratie nodig? Kijk hier naar de outfits van 80er jaren classics zoals Roller Disco - Roller Boogie uit 1979.

Your chance to star in a Queer Femme Glam skatevideo!

From 27 March to 5 April, artist Bambí Benkö is working on an art project at Burnside's skatepark. Using inflatable light sculptures, the artist will transform the skatepark from a hard, rather ‘masculine’ environment to a soft, more ‘feminine’ safespace with a ‘dreamy roller disco vibe.’ More about the whole ‘Art, Skate, Rave, Repeat.’ project can be read here (page is in Dutch).

QUEER FEMME GLAM NIGHT / FILMSHOOT

On Wednesday night the 2nd of April, Bambí is organising a Queer Femme Glam Night at the skatepark. That night, a skate video will be shot as you've never seen it before: think flamboyant, luminous outfits and camp choreography from rollerdisco films from the 80s, mixed with interludes of roller pole dance and whatever else comes to your imagination. The video will be a lasting example of what a more queer & femme skate park could look like.

For the shoot, the queer and femme community is highlighted, but everyone is welcome to join, whether you come on roller skates, skateboard, wheelchair or bmx bike. Can't skate (yet)? No worries, we will arrange roller skates for you and that evening a roller instructor will come and teach everyone the steps for the video.

We will gather that evening at 18:00 at Kunstenlab to get ready (have some pizza) and then we will go to Burnside together around 19:00.

COSTUME MAKING WORKSHOP WITH DRAGADINA

In preparation for the film shoot, there will be a luminous costume-making workshop at Kunstenlab on Sunday 30 March from 12:00-17:00. That day, you will design and make your own luminous costume in collaboration with Bambí Benkö and queer fashion designer Dragadina. As a basis, you bring your own clothes to adjust or pimp.
